Celebrating Bilingualism at Anaheim Central Library!

The majority of the teens we serve in Anaheim are bilingual, and dual-immersion programs in school are expanding across all grade levels in our city.  Teen Read Week is giving us the perfect impetus to create programs celebrating bilingualism and reinvigorate our YA Spanish collection.

Planning TRW programming for English Language Learners

Teen Read Week special programming for English Language Learners (ELLs) at my school is still in the planning stages; I have been collaborating with Mrs. Rebecca Hepler, the English as a Second Language (ESL) teacher to prepare and schedule activities.

A Night at the Library

Teen Read Week is quickly approaching, and we are excited about what we have planned at McHenry High School, West Campus.  To kick off the week, we will be hosting our first ever, Night at the Library.  The event, during which the library will be transformed into a coffee shop/bookstore, will run from 7- 9 in the evening and will be open to the community.  We will have coffee, lemonade, and snacks for visitors as well as a wide range of activities.  Our activities, planned for all ages,…
